How to Unlock bootloader on HyperOS

  • To initiate the bootloader unlocking process on your device, navigate to Settings > About phone and tap on the HyperOS version multiple times until the system displays the message “You are now a developer.” Subsequently, return to Settings > Additional settings > Developer options, and activate OEM unlocking and USB debugging.
  • Proceed to open the Mi Community Global app, where you should log in using your Mi account credentials. Navigate to Profile > Settings > Unlock the device and select “Apply now” Complete the requisite information and submit your application. You will receive a confirmation message on your device and an email at your registered email address.
  • Await the approval period, which may range from 3 to 30 days based on your device model and region. Monitor the status of your application through the Mi Community Global app or the Mi Unlock Tool.
  • Upon receiving the Approval message, download the Mi Unlock Tool from the provided link and extract it on your PC. Execute the MiUnlock.exe file, logging in with the same Mi account used for the unlock permission application.
  • Turn off your device and enter Fastboot mode by simultaneously pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power buttons. Connect your device to the PC using a USB cable.
