How to unbrick OnePlus 11 on Android 15

Recently I had a OnePlus 11 running android 15 that went completely wrong after a bad flash. The phone was stuck in a boot issue and sometimes didn’t even show the logo. Normal installing methods didn’t help, so I had to recover it using EDL mode (9008). If your OnePlus 11 is soft-bricked, looping, or totally dead but still shows Qualcomm 9008, this method should help you bring it back.

Things You Need Before Starting

Nothing fancy, just the basics:

  • A Windows PC
  • Qualcomm USB drivers installed properly
  • FW Manager tool
  • Correct EDL firmware for OnePlus 11
  • USB cable (use a good one, avoid loose cables)

Make sure the firmware is already extracted. You’ll need access to the images folder later.

How to Unbrick OnePlus 11

Step 1: Open FW Manager

Just open FW Manager on your PC. I recommend running it as admin to avoid permission issues.

Step 2: Select Brand and Model

This part confuses a lot of people.

  • Brand: OnePlus
  • Model: oplus-8G2

Step 3: Import Firmware

  • Click, ‘Build Oplus ROM’ button, Browse and select main firmware folder, this will convert oplus split ROM into a EDL flashable file
  • Click on Import Firmware
  • Browse to the extracted EDL ROM
  • Select the images folder (not the parent folder)
  • Check ‘Select All‘  Checkbox to select required partitions.

If you select the wrong folder, installing won’t start.

Step 4: Click Flash

Once firmware is loaded:

  • Click the Flash button

Now the tool will wait for the phone.

Step 5: Connect Phone in EDL 9008 Mode

  • Power off the device completely and put it into EDL mode (9008) hold volume up + down at same time & plug usb
  • If drivers are installed correctly, FW Manager will detect it and installing will begin automatically.
  • Do not touch the cable while installing.
  • Step 6: Reboot After Flash

After the flash finishes successfully:

  • Click Reboot inside FW Manager

The phone will reboot, but don’t expect Android to load immediately.

Step 7: Wipe Data (Very Important)

After reboot, the phone usually enters Recovery Mode.

  • Select Wipe Data / Factory Reset
  • Confirm and reboot

This step is important, otherwise you may face boot issue issues.

If the Phone Still Bootloops (Common Issue)

If the phone:

  • Keeps restarting
  • Gets stuck on logo
  • Enters recovery again and again

Then most likely the super partition is corrupted. This happens often after bad OTA updates.

What Fixed It for Me

  • Open FW Manager
  • Click Build OPLUS ROM
  • Browse and select the main firmware folder
  • Wait until it shows success

After that:

  • Flash the phone again using the same steps
  • Reboot
  • Wipe data
  • Reboot normally

After rebuilding the super partition, the phone finally booted properly.
