How to Install Global ROM on Realme RMX5090

If you have a Realme RMX5090 and want to use the Global ROM, then you are at the right place. In this post, I’ll show you how you can install Global ROM on your Realme phone. But before flashing, let’s understand what are the benefits and what problems you might face after converting.

Benefits:

  • You’ll get Global ROM with Google services already working
  • Android Auto will start working
  • All Global apps will run fine
  • Multi-language support
  • Call recording feature available (in some regions only)

Drawbacks:

  • You must unlock the bootloader, which means your warranty will be void
  • If you lock the bootloader again, then you won’t get software updates

What You’ll Need:

Steps to Flash Global ROM:

  1. First, connect your phone in Fastbootd mode.
  2. Install Platform tools
  3. Extract the downloaded ROM zip.
  4. Open CMD window inside the ROM folder.
  5. Flash all images one by one using this command: 
    fastboot flash 'partitionname' 'filename'
  6. Replace partition name and filename with exact partition & file or use automated tool
  7. Don’t reboot the phone until all partitions are flashed, otherwise the phone might get bricked.
  8. Once done, wipe data and reboot device.

Fix Camera & Network Issues

If your camera or network doesn’t work after flashing, then flash odm and oplusstanvbk from the same China version firmware. If you already have a pre-modified ROM, you don’t need to do this.

After Updating

Whenever you update the phone to the latest version, you’ll need to flash odm and oplusstanvbk again from the same version of China firmware. That’s the only way to keep camera and network working properly.
